CONCORD, Calif. Rameelo has partnered with the Tahuko Foundation for Garba & Dandiya 2026 at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, California on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Tickets start at $7.

That price is not a typo, and it is the most interesting thing about this night.

A community night, priced like one

Most of what gets written about American garba is about the big rooms — arenas, 2,000-ticket halls, headliners flown in for a single evening. Those nights matter. But they are not how most people in a metro actually get their first garba, and they are not what a family with three kids can do every weekend of the season.

A $7 door in a high school gym is a different proposition: it is the neighbourhood night, the one you bring cousins to without a group budget conversation, the one a first-timer can try without deciding in advance whether they will like it. Our first-timer's guide exists for exactly this evening.

The East Bay is its own scene

Bay Area garba coverage tends to collapse into San Jose, and the South Bay genuinely does carry the largest events. But Concord sits in Contra Costa County, on the other side of the hills, inside an easy drive from Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Antioch and the 680 corridor — a catchment that does not consider a South Bay night a local one on a Saturday evening.

Programming the East Bay on its own terms, rather than as an overflow of San Jose, is how a regional scene actually grows. Our Bay Area garba guide covers the full picture across both sides of the bay.

What the partnership covers

Rameelo handles the full ticketing stack for the night: tiered pricing, group orders, ticket transfers, QR scanning at the door, and reporting the foundation can actually reconcile afterwards.

That last part is what a volunteer-run organization usually needs most. The failure mode for community events is administrative, not creative — a cash box, a paper list and four people who each know a different half of who paid. Collapsing that into one door screen and one dashboard is most of the job.

Frequently asked questions

When and where is the Tahuko Foundation garba?

Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 5:00 PM at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, California.

How much are tickets?

Tickets start at $7. Live pricing for every tier is on the event listing below.

Is this a good event for a first garba?

Yes — it starts early, it is priced for a whole family, and a community floor is far more forgiving of someone learning the steps than a packed arena is.

What should I wear?

Something you can move in for a few hours. Our chaniya choli and kediyu style guide covers the details, but nobody at a community garba is checking.
