How to transfer a ticket

Cannot make it, or bought for the group and need everyone holding their own ticket? Transfer it. The other person gets their own code, and yours stops working the moment they claim it.

It takes about thirty seconds, it is free, and you can cancel it right up until they accept.

Why not just send them a screenshot?

This is the single most common way a group ends up stuck outside a venue.

One code, one person

Every ticket has its own code, and a code is spent the moment it is scanned. If you paste your ticket into a group chat and four people screenshot it, the first one through the door is in and the other three are turned away — holding what looks to them like a perfectly good ticket.

A transfer moves the ticket properly: they get their own code and yours is retired. Both of you end up holding something real.

Go to My Tickets

Open a ticket and choose Transfer

Watch it happen

Press the gold button to move through the screens. This is the whole flow, start to finish.

Sending one of your four tickets

A sketch of the real screens. Notice that a ticket already scanned at the door cannot be picked.

1/5

Step 1. Open the event in My Tickets and choose Transfer. You do not have to send everything you hold.

The event screen shows you hold four tickets, with a Transfer tickets option.

Step by step

The same flow in writing.

  1. Step 1: Open the ticket in My Tickets

Go to rameelo.com/portal/tickets, open the event, and choose Transfer.

  2. Step 2: Pick which tickets are going

Tap each one you want to send. You are not forced to send the whole order — keep whatever you need. Anything greyed out has either already been scanned at the door or is already part of another pending transfer.

  3. Step 3: On a multi-night pass, choose one night or the whole run

This choice appears only on a pass, and it opens on this night only on purpose. Sending one night and adding others later is easy; getting three nights back after somebody has accepted all four is not.

  4. Step 4: Enter their email address

Use the address they will sign in with. If they are already on Rameelo we will show you their name so you can check you have the right person. If they are not, that is fine — claiming the ticket sets them up.

  5. Step 5: Read the summary, then send

The last screen states the event, the date and exactly what is leaving. That is the screen to read properly, because a transfer cannot be undone once it has been accepted.

  6. Step 6: They get an email with a link to claim it

If they are not on Rameelo yet you also get a link you can send them yourself, over WhatsApp or a text — useful when their email is slow or they never check it.

What happens to your copy

The part that makes a transfer safe to use.

A ticket is never live in two places

The moment you send a transfer, that ticket’s code is hidden on your phone. It comes back if you cancel, and it is gone for good once they accept. So there is no window where both of you could walk up to the door with the same ticket.

You can cancel until they accept

A pending transfer shows a Cancel transfer button on that ticket. Cancelling returns it to you straight away, and you can send it to somebody else. After they have accepted, the ticket is genuinely theirs — you would have to ask them to send it back.

They can also say no

If they decline, we let you know and the ticket returns to you. And if they simply never get round to it, an unclaimed transfer lapses after about 72 hours and the ticket comes back on its own — nothing is lost, and you can send it again.

Somebody sent you a ticket

The other side of the same flow, in case you are the one receiving.

  1. Step 1: Open the link in the email

It goes to a page showing what you have been sent — the event, the date and how many tickets — and who sent it.

  2. Step 2: Sign in with that same email address

Use the address the ticket was sent to. There is no password: we email you a 6-digit code and you type it in. If you have never used Rameelo before, this also creates your free account — there is no separate sign-up to do first.

  3. Step 3: Accept, and the ticket is yours

It appears in your own My Tickets with its own code. You can decline instead, which sends it back to whoever offered it.

Use the address it was sent to

Tickets are reserved for one specific email address. Signing in with a different address of yours lands you in an empty account and the ticket will not be there — that is the usual cause of a ticket somebody cannot find.

If you bought for the whole group

You have two workable options, and one that causes trouble at the door.

Send everyone their own ticket

Best if people are arriving separately. Each person holds their own code and can walk in without waiting for you. Do it the day before, not in the queue.

Hold them all yourself

Fine if you are all arriving together. Stay at the door and swipe through the codes as each person steps up — a volunteer scans each one.

What not to do

Do not post one ticket in the group chat for everyone to screenshot. Whoever scans it first is in, and everybody else is turned away — and at that point the fix has to happen at the door, which is the worst place and time to sort it out.

Common questions

Can I just screenshot my ticket and send it to them instead?

Please do not. Each code admits one person and is spent the moment it is scanned, so if two people show the same code only the first one gets in — and the second is standing at the door with nothing. A transfer gives the other person their own code and takes yours out of play, which is the only way both of you are actually holding a valid ticket.

Does the person I send it to need a Rameelo account?

They will end up with one, and it is free and takes about a minute. If they are already on Rameelo the ticket appears in their account straight away. If they are not, they get an email with a claim link, and claiming it signs them up with that same email — there is no password to create, just a 6-digit code.

Can I take it back if they have not claimed it?

Yes. While a transfer is pending you will see a Cancel transfer option on that ticket, and cancelling returns it to you immediately. Once they have accepted it, it is theirs and you cannot pull it back — they would have to transfer it to you.

What happens to my copy of the ticket?

The code is hidden as soon as you send the transfer, and stays hidden until it is either accepted or cancelled. That is deliberate: it means a ticket is never live on two phones at once, so neither of you can turn up to find the other person already used it.

I bought four tickets. Do I have to send all four?

No. You pick which ones. Send one and keep three, send three and keep one — whatever you need. Each ticket keeps its own number, so the person you send ticket 3 to gets ticket 3's code.

I have a multi-night pass. Can I give away just one night?

Yes, and that is what the transfer screen offers you first. You can hand over a single night and keep the rest of the run, or send the whole pass. Choose carefully on a whole-pass transfer: if you meant one night you can always send the others afterwards, but once somebody has accepted all four nights you cannot claw three of them back.

The ticket I want to send is greyed out.

That ticket has already been scanned at the door, or it is already part of another pending transfer. A scanned ticket is spent — the person it admitted is inside — so passing the code on would only send somebody to a door that rejects it. Pick one of your unused tickets instead.

How long does the other person have to claim it?

About 72 hours. After that an unclaimed transfer lapses and the tickets come back to you, and you can simply send them again. Nothing is lost when that happens — the seats were held for you the whole time.

Can I transfer a ticket after the event has started?

Transfer it before you get to the venue. Once a ticket has been scanned it cannot be moved, and sorting out who holds what while a queue is forming is the hardest possible moment to do it. Send it the day before if you know you are not going.

Does transferring a ticket cost anything?

No. Transfers are free, and no money changes hands through Rameelo — if your friend is paying you back for the ticket, that is between the two of you.
